Fresno CountyDescription
Tule fog continues to blanket the Central Valley — creating challenging driving conditions and significantly reducing visibility across our roadways.
This video, captured from Auberry, CA and surrounding areas, shows the dense layer of fog settling over the Valley below. Tule fog (also known as radiation fog) forms during cold, calm winter conditions and can make visibility drop suddenly, especially during early morning and overnight hours.
If you’re driving in tule fog, remember these safety tips:
• Slow down and allow extra travel time
• Use low-beam headlights — never high beams
• Increase your following distance
• Stay focused and avoid distractions
• If visibility becomes too limited, safely pull over when possible
The fog may look peaceful from above, but conditions on the road can change in seconds. Please use extra caution, stay alert, and help keep our roads safe during these cold, foggy days.
