Description

ONE WRONG CHOICE CAN CHANGE LIVES FOREVER. THAT’S THE MESSAGE OF FRESNO COUNTY’S TRAFFIC SAFETY CAMPAIGN Yesterday, Fresno County hosted a press conference to unveil its second Traffic Safety Awareness Campaign to encourage all residents to drive safely, especially during the upcoming holiday season. Joining Fresno County Administrative Officer Paul Nerland and Supervisor Nathan Magsig at the press conference were three times as many partners compared to the previous year, including CHP-Fresno, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, Fresno County Probation Department, Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, and police departments from the cities of Fresno, Clovis, Fowler, Kerman, Kingsburg, Reedley and Selma. At the press conference, Celeste Guzman shared the heartbreaking story of losing her children’s father and her sister to a drunk driver. Her message: One right choice can save a life. One wrong choice can ruin many. This year’s campaign includes English and Spanish messages on billboards throughout the rural and urban parts of the County, graphics and PSAs that will pop up on numerous social media platforms, and PSAs that will play on TV stations and in local movie theatres. Our messages to the community are simple: Don’t Drink and DrIvE – If you’ve had alcohol, ask a friend or family member for a ride, or pay for an Uber to safely drive you home. Don’t Text and DrIvE – The text message can wait! Silence your phone or put it on “Do Not Disturb.” Don’t Speed and DrIvE – Plan to leave early to arrive at your destination on time, and slow down!
