State of the County 2025 Honoree Spotlight We were proud to recognize the Fresno County Veterans Service Office (VSO) as one of this year’s honorees at the 2025 State of the County Luncheon. The VSO team works tirelessly to advocate for and support the more than 58,000 veterans who call Fresno County home. With unwavering commitment, they ensure that veterans and their families receive the benefits, recognition, and resources they have rightfully earned. Through innovative outreach and compassionate, one-on-one engagement, the VSO has expanded its impact—transforming lives and strengthening the veteran community. In just the past year, their dedication has led to remarkable results: Military Claims Filed: 2,587 (up from 1,786 the previous year) Benefits Awarded: 367 awards totaling $1.8 million (up from $444,456 the previous year) Awards vs. Denials: 347 awards, with only 30 denials Behind each number is a story—a veteran gaining access to essential care, a family receiving long-overdue recognition, and a community growing stronger through service and support. We commend the Fresno County Veterans Service Office for their extraordinary dedication and their ongoing commitment to improving the lives of our veterans.
