Description

The Central Valley arts scene was divided about an article published in the Visalia Times Delta and The Munro Review about how two professors at the College of the Sequoias have figured out how to each earn over $300,000 annually within the rules of their school district. The district has no rules on the limits of how many classes a professor can teach nor how many students can be in a class. Plus there's bonuses per students in the overtime classes. So these professors each teach film appreciation classes that some semesters have over 300 students enrolled for major payouts. Some in the arts community think this is just arts teachers getting their bag, but what does this mean for the community on the whole? And what does a more equitable world look like for arts educators? Plus the City of Fresno may be dropping the ball on Measure P arts grants?
